On Perfume Making by Frédéric Malle, foreword by Catherine Deneuve and illustrations by Konstantin Kakanias
It’s that time again! I have had the pleasure of being able to read and review yet another book for Basenotes. This time the book in question is the hugely anticipated, and equally huge in size ‘On Perfume Making’ by Frédéric Malle.
Please do head on over to Basenotes to read my review!
Floating Gold by Christopher Kemp – A Natural (and Unnatural) History of Ambergris
Posts are going to be on the light side this week because there seems to be a lot going on here at Candy Perfume Towers, mainly in the form of two exams (boooo) and two exciting writing projects that I must finish by the end of the week. The good thing is that if I am busy then I am (on the whole) keeping myself out of trouble, however the downside is that I can’t update the blog with the usual reviews and stuff as much as usual.
During my brief hiatus I shall leave you with my latest book review for Basenotes, a review of Christopher Kemp’s ambergris tome ‘Floating Gold’, which you can read here. I’m a little late posting a link to this, so if on the off chance that you haven’t seen it already please do head over for a look, Floating Gold is a very interesting book indeed!
This is just a very quick note to say that my latest book review for Basenotes has been published. This time I have reviewed The Perfume Lover by Denyse Beaulieu and its accompanying perfume ‘Séville à l’aube’. If you fancy giving it a quick read then please head on over to Basenotes.
In December I was honoured enough to become the Basenotes Official Book Reviewer! Yay indeed! This is just a very quick post to point you in the direction of the two reviews that I have done so far, and hopefully will continue to do on a monthly basis.
