Etat Libre d’Orange Sample Competition

Recently I reviewed two perfumes (Tom of Finland and Archives 69) by those rebellious ‘Olfactory Libertines’ Etat Libre d’Orange.

Thanks to the lovely people at Nkdman.co.uk I have samples of both Tom of Finland and Archives 69 to give away.

To have a chance of winning both samples please just leave a comment in the space below stating what is your favourite ‘risqué’ perfume. I will choose the winner using random.org on Wednesday 03 August 2011.

I’d love to be included in this draw as I’ve tried neither Archives 69 nor Tom of Finland but I’m madly curious about both. And for my favourite risqué perfume I’d say Serge Lutens Sarrasins. First all innocent jasmines, that are really just there acting as those fig leaves depicted in certain biblical images, if you know what I mean.

Erhm…risqué…risqué for me – we’re talking the liquid triple x-rated stuff here, right? – would have to be…Ambre Sultan. So dangerous, it’s in a league of its own! It might not come across that way on other people, but on me, this should be banned for under 21! 😉 The age or the hour, not sure which! 🙂

Putain de Palaces is lovely, and nary a whiff of bed did I get…:'(
À la Nuit is another sock it to ’em jasmine..Caron’s Tabac Blond always works, as does Ormonde Jayne’s Orris Noir, oh, and Fracas. Mustn’t forget Fracas!

Something about those Serges…his Fleurs d’Oranger on certain sultry nights…OMG..yes…

Back in my days of Living Dangerously, two in particular stand out…and they both have that B**** vibe I love and adore – Bandit parfum – a surefire hit!, and the vintage, original Cabochard. Neither are for the faint of heart!

No need to enter me in the drawing, I have an entire bag full of ELdO and have yet to review most of them, but good luck and bonne chance to those who do!

  There are definite x-rated perfumes included there, Fracas especially. Where would be without Uncle Serge and his travelling circus of naughty perfumes?
  
  I’d forgotten about Bandit, It’s obscene! It cannot be worn in polite company.
  
  I’ve not tried Orris Noir (I may have very briefly but I don’t remember) but I’ve heard great things about it.

😀 @ “Uncle Serge and his travelling circus of naughty perfumes” I would be lost without them, I would!

My favourite ‘parfum risqué’ is Tubéreuse Criminelle (mentholated flesh-eating tuberose, mm-mmm). But runners up include Theo Fennell Scent (unwashed rich women) and FlowerbyKenzo (which, call me a weirdo, smells to me of *ahem* gentleman juice).

Please include me in the draw, I’d love to sample these two scents as I do love EldO’s style and ‘cojones’.

Risqué to me is Aromatics Elixir. I haven’t dared wear it yet although I am slowly planning to get a bottle. I am compromising wearing its cross dresser twin sister Aramis 900 and I have even managed to suffocate people with this one! Surprisingly I wear Sarrasins, Tubereuse Criminelle and Iris Silver Mist but I am just a Serge Lutens freak.

It’s good to see another Serge Lutens freak, and those three are exceptional fragrances.

Aromatics Elixir works really well as a masculine, I’d be interested to see your thoughts on wearing it once you do get a bottle.

I currently don’t have enough experience with perfume to know what a “risque” perfume is for me. I’ll take a wild shot and say Geisha Noire by Aroma M. and Bruno Acampora Musc, and Mechant Loup for a masculine.

Am I too late?

I do not own any perfume that I would characterise as ‘risqué’… Well, if not to count Carnal Flower by Frederic Malle putting on which I’m risking a bad headache… but I still hold on to that travel bottle hoping to learn to love it one day.
