I’m always crushing on something scented or other. My nose knows no limits. Candy Crush is where I showcase the beautifully scented things I’m crushing on right now so you can hopefully develop a crush too.
Halloween is very much now a thing in the UK, more so than it ever was and I for one, am for it. I mean, what’s not to love? Sweets?! DRESSING UP?! It literally combines my favourite things and it’s a wonderfully scented occasion too, with candied apples and pumpkin flesh providing a rather intense scent to the season. Not to mention the fact that Halloween is set during the most fragrant time of the year. So yes, I’m here for Halloween and do you know who else is? The Body Shop, that’s who.
I’ve always enjoyed The Body Shop (I worked there for a spell whilst a Uni), especially their seasonal offerings. At Christmas they used to make the most beautiful Cranberry range and whenever I smell it I can’t help feel Christmassy. For Halloween this year, The Body Shop has launched a capsule collection of spooktastic goods themed around two delicious ingredients: Vanilla and Pumpkin. The Vanilla Pumpkin range
I’m obsessed with the smell. There’s lot’s of sugar going on, in a syrupy, toasted maple sort-of-way, but there’s also a savoury undercurrent, something biscuit-like that draws one in. This is not a sickly sweet vanilla blob that has come to absorb your entire town, no, this is a lovely blend of sugar, nuttiness and savoury facets come to slather you in soft, supple deliciousness.
I’m sold and I’m crushing. The Body Shop’s Body Butters have always been great, leaving the skin feeling soft and moisturised when used in moderation (I find them to be a bit heavy duty and using too much is a bit too slip ‘n’ slide for me). The Vanilla Pumpkin Body Butter is just delicious and it’s subtle, spicy sweet scent is the perfect thing as the winter creeps up on us. Now I just need it in the Shower Gel, oh and a home fragrance oil and scented candle wouldn’t go amiss either, are you listening TBS?
So even if you’re not heading out in costume this Halloween, you can stay appropriately scented in the comfort of your own home. My suggestion? Turn the lights off, put a scary movie on, don’t answer the door and enjoy your Halloween treats all to yourself. Just make sure you’ve got your Vanilla Pumpkin on.
