Candy Crush: L’Occitane Verveine Collection

IMG_4712

I’m always crushing on something scented or other. My nose knows no limits. Candy Crush is where I showcase the beautifully scented things I’m crushing on right now so you can hopefully develop a crush too.

It’s hot. Like real hot. We just went over 60 days without rain, in England. England! It’s been tough because we’re not used to it and we’ve been doing everything we can to keep cool. We’ve snacked on ice lollies, put fans everywhere, drunk gallons of water, and donned vests and shorts, much to no avail. Luckily for us though, L’Occitane have a few products up their sleeves that might just help us thanks to their cooling effect. This week’s Candy Crush takes a dive into the bracing and refreshing Verveine Collection and I tell you, Dear Reader, it’s the place to be!

Refreshing Exfoliating Sugars

I’m always on the hunt for a good body scrub. I did find my holy grail exfoliator in the form of the MUGLER ANGEL exfoliating cream, but that was discontinued so search on I must. This one is a strong contender. Honestly, it smells like lemonade – cloudy, juicy, sugary lemonade served with a sprig of mint. Now that is a smell I can full endorse in a body product. But what about the actual product itself? Does it exfoliate to a satisfying degree? Indeed it does, thanks to gritty ground walnut shells it leaves the skin feeling smooth and the touch of menthol gives a cooling feel. The formula is a bit stiff so you do have to rub it with a bit of pressure, but all-in-all, it did what it said on the tin and smelled refreshing whilst doing so.

Icy Body Gel

This stuff is a lifesaver, honestly. In the midst of this brutal heatwave we’re in, when one can do nothing but park themselves on the sofa in their pants (my apologies for the mental image), L’Occitane’s Icy Body Gel is a beautifully fragrant antidote to the extreme heat. First off, it smells great, minty with a hint of lemon and greenery. Secondly, it’s so super cooling – all one does is coat themselves in a thin, moisturising layer and then wallow in the icy menthol glow it gives. Pro tip? Keep it in the fridge for extra coolness – just beware that it’s a little sticky so do wait for it to dry before you pop your clothes on top. Or just lather up and park it butt naked on the sofa, whatever floats your boat…
