Look! At! This!
Is it not a thing of beauty? A resplendent rock! A glorious rainbow of loveliness! A majestic talisman befitting of the iconic juice it hides inside. This is ALIEN by MUGLER housed within the new We Are All Alien Collector Bottle and it is simply a thing of beauty. Now, I could go to great lengths to explain exactly why this has made it to the Candy Crush list this week, but it’s kind of obvious, don’t you think? So instead, I’ll simply say this: look at it!
“We Are All Alien” is the new MUGLER slogan for ALIEN and ALIEN MAN – a hashtag and byline that encourages us to think about ourselves as unified by the very fact that we are all different. At a time when the world seems to be falling apart at the seams around us and divisions between people form like great caverns in society, it feels timely to have such a unifying statement – something that reminds that we are all connected by our uniqueness. We are all alien. We are all human.
To celebrate this statement, this collector’s edition presents ALIEN in a bottle fashioned from the unification of five colours – a diverse rainbow. As often is the case with MUGLER, the bottle utilities a technology never used before in the perfume industry (just in the same way that the ANGEL star bottle was revolutionary upon launch), specifically a process called ‘Random Interactive Lacquering’ which involves the random application of colour to each bottle as it spins. This results in an individualised bottle, with each one sporting a unique colour pattern. Each bottle is unique. Each bottle is alien.
Purple: Like the original amethyst, it captivates, soothes and awakens a feeling of strength
Pink: A colour that promotes tranquility and softness, it brings optimism and tenderness
Orange: The bearer of joy, orange is the colour of creativity, impulse and desire
Green: A colour that epitomises hope and tolerance, green soothes and calms the mind
Blue: Majestic, blue makes us feel serene and introspective, line an invitation to reflect
The scent inside is ALIEN Eau de Parfum – a radiant and intense explosion of jasmine blooms, syrupy and intergalactic in size. Underscored by golden cashmeran, blond woods and amber, ALIEN is the second MUGLER icon – a goddess of solar proportions that feels exotic and Amazonian. ALIEN is a perfume of excess – an otherworldly woody floral that travels boldly where no scent has travelled before. Oh and now it has a LIMITED EDITION RAINBOW BOTTLE OMG.
So to explain exactly why I love this so much: I crush hard on this because it’s so, so, so, so, SO pretty and it’s ALIEN, which is one of my all-time favourites perfumes, so I guess there really is no other explanation required.
