I’m always crushing on something scented or other. My nose knows no limits. Candy Crush is where I showcase the beautifully scented things I’m crushing on right now so you can hopefully develop a crush too.

Earlier this year CHANEL launches LES EAUX DE CHANEL, a trio of cologne-style Eau de Toilette fragrances inspired by travel, taking their names from locations of historical importance to Gabrielle ‘Coco’ Chanel, the brand’s founder. From Paris to Deauville, Biarritz and Venise, LES EAUX DE CHANEL take one on a journey through the world of perfumery, alighting at familiar genres; the cologne, the floral and the oriental. It’s a gorgeous collection.

The three Eau de Toilettes of LES EAUX DE CHANEL are now being joined by a collection of toiletries, with a body lotion and shower gel for each. So now, if you’re a fan of one, two, or all of LES EAUX, you can shower, lotion and perfume yourself with any of the fragrances in the collection. CHANEL really does spoil us…

LES EAUX DE CHANEL Shower Gels

I do love a good shower gel and let me tell you, CHANEL does a good shower gel. You see, a great shower gel has got to have a noticeable but not overwhelming fragrance, one that is satisfying when mixed with water and steam (in bloom), but it also has to be moisturising too, and it must lather up enough for good coverage. As you can probably expect, these ones from CHANEL do exactly that.

PARIS-DEAUVILLE, PARIS-BIARRITZ and PARIS-VENISE are silky smooth in the shower with a fine foam that goes a long way. The best part though, is the fragrance, and each of these showcases a vivid presentation of its respective EAUX. DEAUVILLE comes across as zesty and refreshing, BIARRITZ is aquatic and salty, and VENISE is sweet and transparent. They really are lovely and after using each, I found myself really in the mood to reach for the EAUX I’d just showered in. That’s a result, I say!

LES EAUX DE CHANEL Body Lotions

Now for the body lotions. I’ll be honest and say that I’m not a big user of body lotions and creams. This is for two reasons; 1) I always forget to put them on; and 2) I have somewhat sensitive skin. My finicky nature aside, I am totally here for scented body lotions, especially to accompany a lighter, cologne-style fragrance, because they can boost longevity.

Boosting longevity is pretty much what these soft and silky lotions do and it’s exactly what they do well. I was particularly drawn to the PARIS-VENISE lotion because when layered with the fragrance, I felt it brought more presence and I was able to gain a new appreciation for the scent that hadn’t made too much of an impression when I reviewed it. That said, the temptation to shower, lotion and spritz with my favourite (DEAUVILLE, incase you were wondering) is strong and it makes me to want to commit to a fragrance in a way that this promiscuous perfumista is not used to…
