I’m always crushing on something scented or other. My nose knows no limits. Candy Crush is where I showcase the beautifully scented things I’m crushing on right now so you can hopefully develop a crush too.
I wear Nº5 L’Eau a lot. It’s easily one of my favourite CHANEL fragrances and it gets a huge amount of skin time in comparison to many other things in my vast collection. What I like about L’Eau is how it captures the spirit of Nº5 but has enough of its own character to be its own entity entirely. Nº5 L’Eau is fresh, sparkling, crystalline, luminous, lovely *insert lightweight, gleaming adjectives here* and next to BOY, it is my most worn CHANEL. So, it’s no surprise that I’m crushing on these new Nº5 L’Eau body products now, is it? Nope.
Launching today are the Nº5 L’Eau Fresh Lotion and In-Shower Cream. These aren’t the first anxcillary products for L’Eau, they follow last year’s All Over Body Spray and On-Hand Cream (obsessed with that hand cream still, by the way) and are two worthy additions to the lineup. Housed in minamilst, travel-friendly bottles (with cool twist-and-slide caps) these handy 100ml bottles are perfect for chucking in the suitcase but they smell so good, you may be left wanting more, more, more.
Nº5 L’Eau Fresh Lotion
With their body products, CHANEL applies the same attention to detail and technical prowess that is integral to their perfumery. Perfumer Olivier Polge worked in collaboration with the CHANEL Fragrance Laboratory to create two products that deliver L’Eau in two distinct forms. The Fresh Lotion is a suitably silky cream that is on the thicker side (as opposed to being more of a milk). It sinks into the skin with ease, leaving behind no greasiness and IT SMELLS LIKE HEAVEN. Skin is left feeling smooth and soft, and scented beautifully with L’Eau. Gorge.
Nº5 L’Eau In-Shower Gel
Now for the In-Shower Gel. If you’ve read any of my Candy Crush posts you’ll know by now that I love a scented shower gel. They are my body product of choice so I have been positively itching for CHANEL to create one for Nº5 L’EAU. They have not dissapointed me. This is a frothy, bubbly delight in the shower. It’s smooth, foams up generously and is strongly scented with L’Eau which, with its billowy musks, citrus and aldehydes, reacts beautifully with the steam in the shower. Believe me when I say this: I took a twenty minute shower when I was testing out the product and enjoyed it so much, I applied the shower gel THREE times. HEAVEN.
These are great products. They smell fantastic, look great and deliver that CHANEL quality that one expects from the brand. I will say though, that the size (100ml) is somewhat of a double-edged sword. On the one hand, 100ml is perfect for travel and I’ll certainly be packing the In-Shower Gel for my upcoming trip to Japan and China, but on the other, I reckon I’d get through that in the shower pretty quickly and when not travelling, I wouldn’t mind having a much larger bottle. So yes, mixed thoughts on the sizing here, but definite Candy Crush vibes for the products themselves.
