2017-12-18 05.35.01

Candy Crushes have been replaced with Christmas Crushes – fragrant gift guides to keep you on track with your gifting this Christmas. This is the final one, solely reserved for those last minute gifts. We better get to it then!

I’m going to keep this brief, folks, because Christmas is just around the corner and if you’re here looking for gift inspiration, you better get a move on because you are running out of time. In this final Christmas Crush post (it’s been emotional, y’all) I’m bringing you three easy gifts that you can still grab before Christmas. I’ve gone for gift sets, because as I always say, you really can never go wrong with a gift set. So, stop panicking, read on and get ready to tick off those final lovelies who are currently languishing on your ‘to buy’ list. Oh, and as always, feel free to treat yourself too whilst you’re at it – because why not?

For Her
Cartier La Panthère Gift Set

If you’ve left it to the last minute to get her a Christmas gift, whether she be your friend, partner, mother, sister or daughter, then you owe it to her to gift something utterly fabulous. You can never go wrong with a gift set (I feel like I’ve laboured that point) and none are more fancy than this one from Cartier, featuring the feline floral of La Panthère. Now, La Panthère is my FAVOURITE Cartier fragrance – it’s a glorious gardenia fragrance with an unusual, gluey bite, but also the texture of the softest cat fur. It’s decadent, unique and so glamorous it hurts. In this set, one gets a 50ml of the Eau de Parfum in the iconic panther bottle (one of the best bottles of all time, let’s be real) with a matching body lotion for good measure. It’s the perfect gift for the girl that demands only the very best.

Availability: £84 for 50ml Eau de Parfum + 100ml Perfumed Body Lotion.

For Him
John Varvatos Collection Gift Set

John Varvatos makes excellent fragrances for men and I think a lot of this comes down to the fact that each and every one of his scents have been made by the same perfumer: the incomparable Rodrigo Flores-Roux. By partnering with Rodrigo, Varvatos has created a consistent olfactory wardrobe that is perfectly in tune with the aesthetic of his brand. The scents are affable and easy, but far from pedestrian. This gift set gives one the opportunity to try four highlights from the collection, including; Artisan, Artisan Blu, Heritage and Vintage, each in handy, travel-size bottles. It’s a great introduction to the brand and a fantastic gift for the man who likes an easygoing scent but wants something elevated above most of the department store fare.

Availability: £32 (reduced from £40) for 4 x 15ml Eau de Toilette at debenhams.com.

For Everyone
Escentric Molecules Art & Chemistry

Last but not least! Escentric Molecules is a really cool brand and they’ve done a lot to dispel the mystery (and often the nonsense) of perfumery by showcasing the important synthetic materials that make modern perfumery what it is. The fragrances come in binary pairs; with one ‘molecule’ fragrance that showcases an aroma chemical in isolation, and an ‘escentric’ that features that same material within a more traditional composition. In this Discovery Set one gets to try all four pairs in what is a fascinating insight into the building blocks of perfumery as much as it is a collection of eight fantastic fragrances. A great gift for perfume nerds and just general nerds too.

Availability: £25 for 8 x 2ml samples @ eccentric.com. Or alternatively, you can purchase any item (fragrance or body product) on eccentric.com and get the Discovery Set for free – just saying…
